Bioinformatics analysis found that the potential targets of berberine regulation of neutrophils were primarily associated with the “innate immune response,” “apoptotic process,” and “oxidation−reduction process,” indicating a function of berberine targeting the multiprotein network, such as “pathways in cancer,” “Jak-STAT signaling pathway,” and “FoxO signaling pathways,” whereby berberine regulates neutrophil phenotypes to maintain immune surveillance and cancer cell sensitivity to DOX. This evidence concerns the gene SOAT1 and cancer.
