Angiotensin II (AngII) is a major player in the RAS16,17 and enhances ROS production by activating NOX via AngII type 1 receptor (AT1R)18–21, thus contributing to the development of various brain disorders, including stroke, traumatic brain injury and neurodegenerative diseases, as well as hypertension18,19,21–23.
