SOD1 and Crohn disease: LeBlanc et al [24], who evaluated the anti-inflammatory effects of catalase (CAT)- or SOD-producing LAB on mice using a trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid-induced Crohn’s disease murine model, reported that mice fed CAT- or SOD-producing LAB exhibited more rapid recoveries from initial weight loss, increased enzymatic activities in the gut, and less intestinal inflammation.
