In this study, we did not include the analysis of plasma P-selectin levels in patients with ACS, due to the fact that in the setting of the coronary syndrome, the comorbidities, such as insulin resistance/T2DM, hypertension, and inflammatory processes, as well as the use of the anti-dyslipidemic and/or anti-hypertensive drugs, may have altered the inflammatory markers levels, such as inflammatory cytokines, adhesion molecules, and C-reactive protein, masking the real impact of SELP polymorphisms on plasma P-selectin levels [23,24,25]. The gene discussed is SELP; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
