Laboratory findings included grade 4 transaminase elevations, grade 1 hyperbilirubinemia, and elevations in serum cytokines including interleukin (IL)‐6, IL‐10, TNFα, and monocyte chemoattractant protein‐1; a postmortem examination revealed moderate hepatitis and lymph nodes showing necrotic tumor largely replaced by CD3+ T cells, fibrosis, and macrophages. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is hepatitis A virus infection.
