Analysis of QKI expression by western blotting and RT-PCR in two ccRCC cell lines and one normal kidney cell line showed that QKI expression was significantly lower under pathological conditions than in the normal cell line (Fig. 1A and B).To investigate the role of QKI in the initiation and progression of ccRCC, western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry were conducted to analyze the expression of QKI in the ccRCC tumor mass and matched adjacent normal tissues of 161 patients. The gene discussed is QKI; the disease is nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
