It accumulates and enters the nucleus, interacting with T-cell factor (TCF/LEF) to activate transcription of downstream target genes, e.g. c-myc, cyclinD1, WISP, etc. Among them, c-myc can induce the morphological changes of mammalian epithelial cells and enhance the non-anchor-dependent growth ability of cells; while WISP has a certain relationship with the occurrence of colon cancer.
