PODXL and acute myeloid leukemia: An immunochemical analysis performed in blasts from 81 patients with leukemia showed elevated levels of PODXL expression in 77% of cases of acute myeloid leukemia, 81% of cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and 87% of cases of cutaneous myeloid sarcoma [28], which is a rare extramedullary tumor most often associated with acute myeloid leukemia [59].
