A study showed that miR199b, a microRNA targeting PODXL and DDR1 (discoidin domain receptor 1), regulates the expression of PODXL in K562 chronic myeloid leukemia cell line overexpressing miR-199b and established an inverse correlation between miR199b levels and PODXL expression in patients with acute myeloid leukemia [60]. The gene discussed is PODXL; the disease is chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
