Reduced expression of the neurofibromin 1 (NF1) gene, as well as mutations in the Phosphatase and Tensin homolog (PTEN) gene and high expression of chitinase 3 like 1 (CHI3L1) and MET proto-oncogene, receptor tyrosine kinase (MET) have been shown to influence GBM growth [10]. The gene discussed is MET; the disease is glioblastoma.
