TXNIP and Hyperglycemia: Recent researches revealed that cg19693031, a methylated position at the 3′ UTR of TXNIP, was associated with type 2 diabetes (T2DM).24, 25 In addition, cg19693031 was correlated with the sustained hyperglycaemia.26 Therefore, combined with our previous study,23 we hypothesized that overexpressed TXNIP regulated by demethylated cg19693031 might play important role in the inflammatory responses and activation of monocytes, which provided compelling evidences for TXNIP serving as a risk factor for CAD.
