Since IL-2 is a Th1 type cytokine secreted by T cells (Vafadari et al., 2012) and SHP2 plays an up-regulation role in the development and function of hematopoietic cells (Kratz et al., 2007; Zhu et al., 2011), the chemotherapy-induced anemia could be related to the development of immunosuppression and cytotoxicity on hematopoietic cells. This evidence concerns the gene IL2 and anemia (phenotype).
