Only 0.9% (1/108) of C. jejuni and 5.2% (5/96) of C. coli isolates were resistant to macrolides (erythromycin and azithromycin), one of the key antimicrobial classes used for treating human campylobacteriosis, and none of the isolates carried an erm gene or contained known SNPs in the 23S rRNA genes associated with resistance. Here, ETV5 is linked to campylobacteriosis.
