Undeniably, considering the importance of the IRF-3 pathway in inflammation-related diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and type II diabetes in addition to chronic hepatitis [22], we determined whether 8-HD could also regulate this pathway. This evidence concerns the gene IRF3 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
