Hypomethylation of CHD5 (−11.76%), which regulates genes implicated in aging and Alzheimer’s disease [75], and hypermethylation of DHCR24 (10.39%), which has neuroprotective characteristics and is downregulated in neurons of Alzheimer’s disease patients [76] was observed in the reduced cognition group. This evidence concerns the gene CHD5 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
