Specifically, mutations in BAP1, an important gene that is involved in chromatin dynamics, is associated with a high risk for metastasis in uveal melanoma20 and is known as a tumor suppressor in ccRCC21, occurred more frequently in ccRCC-TT patients in comparison with ccRCC patients (24% vs. 5%, Fisher’s exact test, p = 0.002186, Fig. 3b). The gene discussed is BAP1; the disease is nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
