CDKN1C and Hydrocephalus: CNS-specific conditional KO of the maternal Cdkn1c allele resulted in the induction of cell death in a manner dependent on the transcriptional regulators E2F1 and p53, thinning of the neocortex, and pronounced hydrocephalus in mice, with the latter effects possibly reflecting a function of p57kip2 in the subcommissural organ (SCO)30.
