MTREX and hepatocellular carcinoma: To identify the proteins that might be important for the aberrant AS and tumorigenesis of HCC, we analyzed the transcriptional dataset assembled from 225 HCC tissues and 220 non-cancerous liver tissues available in the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/) and discovered that the mRNA levels of the RNA helicase MTR4 were increased in HCC tissues (Fig. 1a, b).
