In immunohistochemical staining of human brain tissue, the antibodies recognised mature pathological tau structures such as neurofibrillary tangles in AD and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) as well as Pick bodies in Pick’s disease (PiD), the latter a tauopathy whose inclusions contain only 3R-tau isoforms. The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is progressive supranuclear palsy.
