PAF1 and cancer: It is localized mainly to the nucleus, directly interacts with PAF1, regulates the PAF1/POLII complex, inhibits the transcriptional elongation of the downstream oncogenes cpeb1, sox-2, c-Myc, cyclin D1, and others, and inhibits the proliferation and tumorigenesis of glioblastoma and other cancer cell types [79] (Fig. 1c).
