In the brain after ischemia with reperfusion, ischemia seems to favor the development of irreversible neurodegeneration of the Alzheimer’s disease type with neuronal death [11], neuroinflammation [76], white matter changes, general brain atrophy, amyloid accumulation [7,45] and dysfunctional tau protein (Figure 2 and Figure 3) [15,16]. Here, MAPT is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
