Two case series, one with 12 children with treatment-refractory spasticity related to developmental disorders117 and one with 7 children with pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration (PKAN),118 reported improvement in the spasticity and dystonia in some of the children after treatment with dronabinol, a synthetic form of THC (spasticity) or various cannabis strains (PKAN). Here, PANK1 is linked to pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration.
