Among these genes, AHNAK, ARID1A, AXIN1, RB1, and P53 have been reported to inhibit the proliferation and invasion of HCC cells.55, 56, 57, 58 However, the expression of these genes was increased in HBV‐related HCC as shown in Figure 4A. These results implied that increased expression of these mutated genes might cause the loss of function on tumor suppression, and contribute to the development of HCC.
