Given the increased risk of early-onset breast cancer in patient with NF1, the most recent version of the North American National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN guidelines) (Genetic/Familial High-Risk Assessment: Breast and Ovarian, Version 2.2017) advise annual mammogram starting at age 30 and consideration of breast MRI with contrast from ages 30 to 50 in the NF1 population [238].
