Direct investigation of Dicer1 function with its gene silencing by siRNA and through specific inhibition of calpain 1 and calpain 2 with calpeptin to modulate miRNAs in MEG-01 cells revealed that abnormal Dicer1 activity was generated in sepsis that could reduce miR-26b and, in turn, to elevate SELP expression in both platelets and MKs. This evidence concerns the gene SELP and Sepsis.
