This agrees with our previous finding that BMI at ages over 25 years is inversely associated with risk of hormone‐receptor‐positive breast cancer only.4 In augmentation analyses by intrinsic subtype, however, we observed somewhat contradictory findings, with some weight change variables being positively associated with HER2‐enriched breast cancer and nonluminal breast cancer overall. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast carcinoma.
