The top-scoring genes in the network include the members of Interferon Induced Transmembrane Proteins (IFITM1 and IFITM3) followed by MT1E, MT1X, and MT1G and OASL, all essential proteins involved in the innate immune response to viral infection (Fig 6B; S15–S17 Figs). This evidence concerns the gene MT1E and viral infectious disease.
