In gastric cancer, miR-129-5p was found to attenuate tumor progression by targeting high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) [27], WW domain containing E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 1 (WWP1) [28], disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 9 (ADAM9) [46], solute carrier family 2 member 3 (SLC2A3) [47], collagen, type I, alpha 1 (COLA1) [48], and interleukin (IL)-8 [49]. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and gastric cancer.
