Plasma levels of LDL-C, TNF-α, and PTX3 were increased significantly in the CAS group patients vs. the CAS-free group (p = 0.002, 0.002, 0.000, respectively), and family history of cerebrovascular disease was significantly more common in the CAS group (p = 0.005) (Table 1).
