In the multivariate analysis, higher CRP level remained an independent predictor of depressive symptoms at day 8 (OR: 2.89, 95%CI: 1.47–5.69, P < 0.01), but not depressive symptoms assessed 3 months after stroke (OR: 1.21, 95%CI: 0.56–2.60, P = 0.62). Here, CRP is linked to stroke disorder.
