In the multivariate analysis, higher CRP level remained an independent predictor of depressive symptoms at day 8 (OR: 2.13, 95%CI: 1.18–3.82, P = 0.01), but not depressive symptoms assessed 3 months after stroke (OR: 1.53, 95%CI: 0.86–2.73, P = 0.14). Here, CRP is linked to stroke disorder.
