CD47 and hepatocellular carcinoma: Immunofluorescence microscopy revealed that the injected tumor cells, regardless of CD47 deficiency, were clearly detected in the spleen (localized mainly at the injection site) and liver for at least 24 h following i.s. injection (Supplementary Fig. 1), consistent with previous studies where intrasplenic injection was used to establish orthotopic hepatocellular carcinoma and hepatic metastases in mice20,21.
