It has been suggested that apoB (which increases the total number of atherogenic particles) is more robustly associated with CHD than other measures.28 However, we observed associations that were comparable in direction and magnitude for CHD, regardless of whether adjustments were for LDL-C and HDL-C or apoA1 or apoB, with the possible exception of triglyceride in the VLDL subclass. This evidence concerns the gene APOB and coronary artery disorder.
