FAT1, a transmembrane protein, is a non-classical proto-cadherin that has a role in developmental processes [20–22] as well as an oncogenic role in many human cancers like glioma, pancreatic cancer, leukemia, colon cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) etc. [17–19, 23–26]. This evidence concerns the gene FAT1 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
