While numerous anti-inflammatory cytokines are present, the current study reviewed the alteration in levels of IL-4 and IL-10, as it has been previously suggested as an important marker in psychosocial stress [27] as well as other chronic medical diseases including type 2 diabetes mellitus [62] and cardiovascular disease [63], both of which are more often than not closely associated with PTSD.
