Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2), a relatively novel regulator of angiogenesis that acts through the TEK tyrosine kinase (Tie2) endothelial receptor, has been identified as a potential prognostic biomarker for some types of cancer, including HCC and breast, thyroid and colorectal cancers [14,24,25,26]. This evidence concerns the gene ANGPT2 and colorectal cancer.
