The high expression of VEGF and its receptors was widely demonstrated in GBM and many other forms of cancer, leading to a monoclonal antibody to be developed against VEGF, bevacizumab (Avastin®), which is administered for colorectal cancer, metastatic breast cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer, as well as for relapsed forms of GBM [32]. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and cancer.
