E2F8 and prostate carcinoma: The ectopic E2F8 expression contributes to the suppress of E2F-targeted gene expression and slows down the proliferation of mouse embryonic fibroblasts and stress-induced skin cancer [6,34], while E2F8 overexpression promotes cell proliferation and tumorigenesis in many types of cancers including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, papillary thyroid cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer and liver cancer [8,14,31,32,35].
