PTBP3 and breast carcinoma: PTB protein 3 (PTBP3), also known as ROD1, is involved in nonsense‐mediated mRNA decay and functions as a splicing repressor.28, 29 Recently, PTBP3 has also been found to regulate epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer.30 PTBP3 binds to the 3′UTR mRNA of ZEB1, an EMT regulatory transcription factor, to prevent its degradation.
