Makhov et al. (2014) found that Piperlongumine inhibits tumor growth and promotes autophagy by inhibiting AKT/mTOR signaling pathway. In prostate cancer, SGK1 promotes autophagy, mTOR phosphorylation increases autophagy activation, and SGK1 and mTOR dual depression have significant anti-tumor effects (Liu et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and prostate cancer.
