Overall the reported data support the concept that CXCL8 production in unstimulated GB cells, possibly linked to the aberrant activation of NF-κB [26, 30], results in a constitutive activation of the cognate receptors and the activation of key pathways involved in cytoskeletal rearrangement and cell mobilization, which may account for the invasive potential of these cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and cancer.
