In this open-label, randomised, treat-to-target trial in individuals with type 2 diabetes treated with insulin, administration of degludec U200 resulted in no significant difference in the rate of overall symptomatic hypoglycaemia but it did result in a nominally significantly lower rate of nocturnal symptomatic and severe hypoglycaemia during the maintenance period compared with glargine U300. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
