MTDH, also called AEG1 and LYRIC, was shown to be involved in the carcinogenesis and progression of various types of tumors, including breast cancer [7], glioma [8, 9], hepatocellular carcinoma [10] and squamous cell carcinoma [11], suggesting that MTDH is a prognostic molecular biomarker and therapeutic target [4].
