Many studies showed that Kif18A is highly expressed in breast cancer,[21] rectum cancer,[14] and liver cancer,[15] and that it is associated with poor prognosis in those cancer types.[14,15,21] On the contrary, the expression of Kif18A is low in gastric cancer, and this low expression is associated with a poor prognosis.[22] Therefore, the expression pattern of Kif18A seems to vary among different cancer types, and little is known about those expression patterns. The gene discussed is KIF18A; the disease is breast cancer.
