In this sense, a study conducted to identify the effect of tilapia fish oil, which is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, administrated to rats by gavage during three weeks before I/R revealed that after ischemia and 1, 12, and 24 h of reperfusion, antioxidant enzyme activities of catalase (CAT), SOD, and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) decreased in the intervention group. Here, CAT is linked to ischemia.
