For instance, inherited genetic mutations in the Th17 pathway (e.g., STAT1, STAT3, STAT4) are known to lead to several diseases such as chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis (CMC), Hyper-IgE syndrome (HIES) and autoimmune polyendocrinopathy–candidiasis–ectodermal dystrophy (APECED).
