In 2019, the first-line anti-PD-1 treatment was approved for patients with stage III NSCLC that were not susceptible to surgery, definite chemoradiation, or present metastasis, and that complied with an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) or anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) wild-type phenotype and PD-L1 expression (Table 1).
