Choroidal melanoma is an intraocular tumor with rare incidence of occurrence but relatively high death rate up to 50% among patients.2 LUCAT1 has been commonly recognized as an oncogene in various cancers including non‐small lung cancer, ovarian cancer, clear cell renal cancer, breast cancer, oral squamous cell carcinoma, etc.12, 13, 14, 15, 16 However, the expression of LUCAT1 and its functions in CM have not been explored yet. The gene discussed is LUCAT1; the disease is choroidal melanoma.
