IL-1β is an interleukin involved in inflammation caused by bone remodeling, and as described by Hosokawa et al. [29], its expression is related to the one of IL-6, and as we see that in both cases the concentrations at the end of study decreasing with respect to the initial values, we can affirm that periodontal disease has not continued to develop. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is periodontal disorder.
