In another mouse stroke model, supplementation with Tocovid (200 mg/kg/day), a palm tocotrienol mixture, for a month exerted anti-inflammatory effects in ischemic mice brain by lowering the expressions of inflammatory biomarkers including tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) and ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule-1 (Iba-1), as well as antiapoptotic or autophagic parameters which are cleaved caspase-3 and LC3-II expressions. This evidence concerns the gene CCL2 and stroke disorder.
