CASP3 and stroke disorder: Some studies have demonstrated the ability of [18F]ML10 to detect cell death in response to treatment [29, 30], however in a recent study using a rat stroke model, fluorinated caspase 3/7 inhibitor but not [18F]ML10 demonstrated uptake in areas of ischaemic brain compared with the contralateral side, calling into question the ability of [18F]ML10 to specifically detect dead and dying cells [31].
