Since tumor cells preferentially use glycolysis for energy supplementation to sustain their proliferation and aggressive behavior [26], and Nur77 effectively inhibited glycolysis in HCC cells (Supplementary Fig. 5a, b), we hypothesized that WFDC21P, as a downstream target of Nur77, may regulate glycolysis to influence HCC cell proliferation.
